Hi, I’m Katie!

I shot my first wedding by myself when I was 15. I didn’t have my license, so my parents had to drive me there! In the twelve years since then, I have been second shooting and shooting weddings on my own part-time each year. I LOVE weddings and photography, and am excited to begin working more in the industry!

As an experienced wedding photographer with over 10 years and 70 weddings in the business, I know what it takes to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible. I understand the flow of a wedding day and pride myself in seeing issues before they surface. As a second photographer, I will be there for you in any way you need.

Need me to run to scope out first look locations? I’ll come back with photos and detailed descriptions of location options.

Need me to photograph the groomsmen by myself? I’m ready! I’ve second shot for ten years and am comfortable getting all of the getting ready and posed photos by myself. I have also photographed 20+ weddings as a solo photographer with no second accompanying me, so I’m used to ensuring all the details are captured even while stretched a little thin!

Need someone to hype you up? I’m your girl! Or maybe you need someone to hold an umbrella over you and your camera? I’ve done it before and I’ll gladly do it again!

Leading Up to Working Together

At booking:

We can discuss basic details about the day (location, rate, general coverage, etc.).
I can sign an agreement if you would like, no worries is that is not something that you typically do!

A few weeks out:

We will touch base to discuss the wedding and if there is anything outstanding.
If we have not worked together before, I always ask for a couple full gallery links to ensure that I follow your style conventions. I also like to discuss shooting style (hands-on, hands-off, documentary, etc.).

The week of:

You and I will connect to determine any last-minute details and coverage hours. I will set up my standard wedding day notes list which will include:
Key names, timeline, key shots, family formal checklists, important contact information, and more!

The days leading up:

I charge all of my equipment and go through my wedding day checklist to ensure I have everything ready.
I test out my flashes and format all SD/CF cards I have.
I clean all of my equipment and pack my bags.

The morning of:

The first thing I do on a wedding day is double-check that everything is packed.
I always reset the clock on my camera once I put in a fresh battery and sync it to the second. This will ensure that our photos are aligned when they are combined in post.
