Wedding days aren’t just about what’s planned, they’re about what unfolds.

The quiet glances, the in-between conversations, the way your people show up for you.
That’s what I’m always watching for..

My Approach

Wedding days aren’t just a series of planned moments, they’re a collection of fleeting, in-between ones that unfold quietly and often unexpectedly. The way your loved one squeezes your hand before the ceremony. The glance you exchange during dinner. The laughter that builds on the dance floor as the night goes on.

My approach is rooted in noticing those moments as they happen, without interrupting them. I’m not here to turn your day into a production, I’m here to document it honestly, intentionally, and in a way that lets you stay fully present in it.

If you love a more guided experience, I’m always happy to step in and pose or direct as much as you’d like. When I do, we’ll keep things efficient and intentional, taking only as much time as you need so you can get right back to being fully present in your day.

My Philosophy

I believe your wedding day should feel like something you lived, not something you performed.

It’s not about perfection, or recreating what you’ve seen before, it’s about presence. The energy in the room. The people who shaped you. The quiet, fleeting moments that exist just beneath the surface of the day.

My work is rooted in noticing those moments as they unfold, and preserving them with care and intention. I’m drawn to what’s real: the in-between, the unspoken, the things you didn’t even realize were happening.

Because the most meaningful photographs don’t just show you what your day looked like, they bring you back to how it felt.

The Process

Every wedding begins long before the day itself.

I take the time to understand what matters most to you: your priorities, your people, the way you want your day to feel. From there, I help shape a photography approach that fits naturally within your plans, offering guidance on timeline, lighting, and flow so everything moves with ease.

This isn’t about over-structuring your day: it’s about creating space for it to unfold beautifully.

Leading Up to the Day

As your wedding approaches, I remain a steady, thoughtful presence in the background.

Whether it’s finalizing timelines, or answering last-minute questions, I’m here to make sure you feel prepared and supported, without adding to the noise. My goal is for you to walk into your day feeling calm, confident, and fully able to be present.

Your Wedding Day

On your wedding day, I move with intention and awareness: always observing, anticipating, and responding to what’s happening in real time.

I’ll gently guide when it’s helpful, and step back when it matters most. If you prefer more direction, I’m always happy to pose and guide you in a way that feels natural and effortless. When we do, we’ll take only as much time as you need, so you can get back to experiencing your day without feeling pulled away from it.

From the quiet moments to the energy of the dance floor, I’m there to document it (and match the energy) as it truly felt: honestly and artfully.

Choosing Your Photographer

Your wedding photographer is with you more than anyone else on your wedding day—more than your wedding party, your family, and in many moments, even more than your spouse-to-be. Because of that, who you choose truly matters. You’re not just choosing someone whose work you love—you’re choosing someone who will be by your side through some of the most emotional, fast-paced, and meaningful moments of your day. You want someone who will add to your experience, not take away from it.

That’s where I come in.

I’ve been to a lot of weddings—days where everything unfolded seamlessly, and days where timelines shifted, weather changed, or plans needed to be reworked on the fly. Because of that, I come in prepared for anything. If something runs behind, I help adjust the timeline without adding stress. If nerves kick in, I bring a calm, grounding presence. If things feel chaotic, I help create space so you can actually be present and enjoy what’s happening.

My role goes far beyond just taking photos. I help guide you when you need direction and step back when you don’t. I keep things moving when it matters, and I protect the moments that deserve to unfold naturally. I’m there to notice the in-between moments, to anticipate what’s coming next, and to make sure nothing important is missed.

At the end of the day, your photos will last forever—but so will the way your day felt. My goal is to make sure both are something you can look back on with joy.

Meet Your Photographer, Katie

Hi, I’m Katie, the photographer behind Katie Sprague Photography. My love for photography began early, when I got my first camera at twelve and became fascinated by the way a single image could preserve a moment in time. By fifteen, I photographed my first wedding as a lead photographer: an experience that shaped the way I see this work to this day. Since then, photography has remained a constant, evolving into a body of work that spans weddings, portraits, events, and the natural world, all rooted in a deep appreciation for honest, meaningful imagery.

My approach blends documentary storytelling with gentle, intuitive direction. I’m drawn to images that feel natural, thoughtful, and full of life, capturing moments as they unfold while helping people feel comfortable and truly themselves in front of the camera. Whether I’m documenting a wedding day or the quiet details of a landscape, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that feel authentic, lasting, and something you’ll return to for years to come.
